Project Animate yourself! realized by Studio DOM with partner organizations Film and creative studio VANIMA and Children’s Cultural Center Novi Sad
Studio DOM animation is a non-profit non-government organization headquartered in Sremski Karlovci, Serbia, working with youth with the aim to encourage social activism through creative work in multimedia, specifically animation.
The organization was founded by a citizen group in 2016.
Studio’s Mission Statement is to introduce the youth from local groups and the region with the possibilities offered by animation, in order to incorporate creativity into their digital space and master skills of the 21st century through independent creation, fulfil their potential and become active citizens who cherish quality social relations and cooperation with their peers from the local community, region and further, contributing to positive changes in society.
The studio has so far completed 40 projects and established cooperation with a large number of cultural institutions and schools of every education level in Serbia.
Among the projects of the studio, we put emphasis on the three-year project “Novi Sad – Children’s Culture Capital”, cooperating with the Children’s Cultural Centre Novi Sad, in the scope of which 13 films about the most important culture institutions of Novi Sad were made, a city that has held the title of the European Culture Capital in 2022. Furthermore, an international animation project Multi-Most, first held in 2016 which has connected children from Serbia, Russia, Ukraine, Italy and Israel through animation. The project was awarded the European Language mark by the program Erasmus+ and the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Serbia; Studio DOM, with a large number of partners, is the organizer of the International Festival of Children and Youth Animated Films “MultiMost Fest”, in which movies from over 80 countries participate every year.
Studio has produced a significant amount of animated films, with children and youth participating in their creation. A list of awards is available on the Studio’s website.
Projects of the Studio were supported and endorsed by the Municipality of Sremski Karlovci, City of Novi Sad Culture Administration, Provincial Secretariat for Culture Vojvodina, Ministry of Science, Education and Technological Development, Ministry of Culture and Information, Ministry for Diaspora of the Republic of Serbia, and the Serbian Film Centre.
